On September 13, 2008, 41 passersby received formal portraits for their own use at the corner of Mission and 24th Streets (thanks to a grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission). The project was originally a response to surveillance cameras installed at that location, and offered an alternative form of portraiture to the profiled image created by the cameras. With the help of many great people during the portrait day, we were also able to use audio interviews, super 8 film and video to capture the reactions of participants' to their image, their neighborhood and each other. Check back for a link to view the video document for this project.
