Light on Healing
These photographs accompanied a story by Eve Ekman in her publication "Ethsix", that tells about the great work of the crisis response team that is dispatched to the emergency room at San Francisco General Hospital for gun violence cases. Pastor Yul Dorn, Jr. and Lynn Westry console families, provide counseling and support throughout the surgeries, ICU, and too often the funerals.

I visited with Eve two of the ministries of these crisis counselors, Pastor Yul Dorn, Jr. at 'True Light Church of God in Christ' in Daly City and Lynn Westry at her brother Pastor Ronald Westry's parish 'New Beginnings' in Bayview Hunter's Point. These parishes serve as epicenters of healing in communities that are in continual mourning due to gun violence.
